Mr. Robert A. Murray received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is a Criminal Defense Attorney in Columbia, Missouri, with a private practice that he established in 1989. Prior to going out on his own, Mr. Murray served in the Boone County Public Defenders Trial Office as an Assistant Public Defender from 1985-1989. His practice is focused in the areas of DWI and Traffic Defense. In 1998, Mr. Murray had Boone County's then-existing speeding law declared invalid by the Circuit Court, which led to the dismissal of over 400 speeding cases. Mr. Murray is a member of the National College of DUI Defense, The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has frequently lectured and written for the Missouri Bar on DWI, Traffic, and Criminal Law. Mr. Murray has presented 16 seminars for the Missouri Bar in the areas of DWI, traffic and criminal law. He served as the Planning Chairman and Moderator on Defending DWI/DUI Seminars across the state in the spring of 2002. Mr. Murray was on the DWI Law and Practice Planning Committee for the Missouri Bar DWI CLE desk book that was published in 2004, and taught DWI Law to the University of Missouri Law School's Trail Practice class in 2004. He attended the National College of DUI Defense's Trial College at the Harvard Law School in July 2005 and July 2006. |
